>FAIR TRADE. MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN COMMUNITIES BY ADDING VALUE TO THEIR COMMODITIES
As innovators we always follow the path less trodden. Often seen as industry disruptors we hope to turn normal industry practice on its head by training local people in artisan or handmade cocoa, skincare products and the production of honey.Using small scale processing and skincare, honey and chocolate making equipment, local ingredients, local labour we are creating a whole value chain around this new enterprise in the communities we serve. By providing advice and technical assistance we will reverse the normal trend, which is to add all the value in North America, Australia, Europe and the Far East giving only the value of the commodity to the commodity growing economy. In building industry and empowering communities, this is more than fair trade.
-Working with NGOs,goverment and communities to share knowledge with cacao growers to practice intergrated cacao farming and giving them the skills to add value to their products.
- Helping Shea cooperatives and families transition to making and selling their own soaps, lotions, moisturising creams and other personal care products through the provision of equipment and training.
- Helping NGO's,government organisation and farmers set up a network of beekeepers. Also providing honey making equipment and skills to reduce poverty in the communities.
Through our partners we offer :
consultancy, training and mentoring to farmers and entrepreneurs interested in adding value to their commodities. We are initially running pilot projects in bee keeping, honey making, cocoa and Shea products. Please contact us for more information regarding this aspect of our business.
